One of the garden holders who would have been opening their garden for our Open Gardens Weekend has surplus aubergine, and tomato plants. If you would like some, they will be placed on a table at the entrance to Water Eaton Lane on Saturday 6th June 2020 from 10.30am to 6.00pm. Donations will go the Kidlington and Hampton Poyle 800 Fund
This coming weekend would have been our “Open Gardens” in Kidlington and Hampton Poyle. but like so many other things it isn’t happening. We are hoping and planning to rearrange this for the equivalent weekend (5th/6th June) 2021. In the meantime, our garden-holders have sent in just a few photos to show us what we can’t see in person this year. See these at Open Gardens Update.
Unfortunately we will not be holding the Antiques Afternoon, planned for Thursday 19th March, due to the coronavirus situation. We hope to rearrange it for a new date later in the year.
That was an evening to remember! St Mary’s looked beautiful with so many twinkling candles (and was comfortably warm!). The food was superb, the service impeccable and much fun was had as our hosts encouraged bidding for the varied and interesting lots on offer.
Thanks to everyone who supported this great fund-raiser: the guests, the working team, the people who donated items for the auction and the amazing organiser, Meghann Hewett.
We loved the suave hosts, the eagle-eyed Maitre-D, the impeccable serving team, the classy music, the atmospheric decor, the table and furniture set-up, and of course the fantastic food and drink.
We have 18 fantastic lots on offer for our auction – a week in a holiday flat in Bude, many and varied activities, paintings, books etc. Even if you aren’t going to the Dinner you can place bids up to 12noon on Saturday 1st February. For all the details see the Dinner page.
Our celebrations got off to a great start this week, when over 40 people enjoyed a super “Epiphany Tea” in St Mary’s Refectory. Many thanks to Elaine, Pam and all their helpers for a very enjoyable afternoon, which raised over £300.
